These rustic and beautifully hand forged wall hooks are useful for those situations where you want a little extra storage space done in style. The hooks are forged from 1/4" mild steel bar and are easily installed with the included wall screws. They can be installed into either drywall or wood. Make for an unforgettable housewarming gift. An excellent addition to any home, especially cabins.

Finish:
Silver-black finish with wire brush and beeswax. Not recommended for outdoor use as they could rust over time from moisture.

Process:
I forge these hooks in a batch process by starting out with a length of 1/4" hot rolled mild steel rod. The finial scroll is forged first, followed by the hook itself. The proto-hook is cut from the stock and the top finished on the shoulder of the anvil. Each hook is then drilled with a screw hole, wire brushed and finished with a coating of beeswax and linseed oil to prevent rusting.

All of our items are forged from carbon steel, which is susceptible to rust. The best way to prevent rust forming on steel is to keep it clean and dry. Applying a light coating of oil such as vegetable or linseed also works well, especially for long term storage. Be sure to use a food safe oil on items that will be used for eating!

If rust happens to form on steel, it's not the end of the world. Take a brillo pad or other coarse scrubber and scrub the rust off with a little water. Once the rust is removed, thoroughly dry and oil the item well to prevent further rust from forming.

Blades such as garden tools and knives will benefit from regular honing, and occasional sharpening. Using a whetstone is the best method for both.

These hooks are perfect for some of my early 1800’s rifles I have attached to one of my walls in my “Man Cave.” The are of high quality and are very rugged looking! I used these smaller hooks for an 1800’s rifle (below in the picture).
